DESCRIPTION:Summer Camp at Camp Comstock. August 25-28.\nAug. 25\, 9am-3pm + overnight camping\nAug. 26-27\, 9am-3pm\nAug. 28\, 9am-7pm\n\n\nWe are so excited to announce that NLLC will hold Summer Day Camp again this year at Camp Comstock Girl Scout Camp\, 1419 Taughannock Blvd. in Ithaca. This year’s day camp will be from 9 am to 3 pm Monday\, August 25th through Thursday\, August 28th and we plan to have many fun activities to do each day\, from nature hikes\, swimming\, art\, storytelling\, building projects and more. \nOn the last day of Summer Camp there will be a potluck from 11:45 to 12:30 and a family team challenge and awards ceremony from 3 – 5 pm Thursday\, August 28th. \nRegistration for 1 to 2 days of day camp is $50 per family and registration for 3 to 4 days of day camp is $100 per family. We can offer this incredible week to you for such accessible pricing because we all work together to make it happen. Our cooperative model invites each participating family to lead an activity (or multiple activities) during the week\, and you will be directed to submit activity titles at registration.  Once the schedule is finalized\, you will have the opportunity to select the activities your child(ren) would like to participate in\, and at that time you will also be directed to select cleaning and other roles that help make the week possible. \nThere is also an optional\, overnight stay at Camp Comstock on Monday night\, August 25th\, for a small additional fee. If your family is interested in the overnight stay\, you can choose to stay overnight in either one of the village unit cabins  for $19 per family or a lean-to/tent spot for $12 per family. We have some fun evening activities planned for our overnight stay and of course we will roast hotdogs and  s’mores over the campfire! \nNLLC is NOT a drop-off program. Every child must have a parent or designated responsible adult on-site during our programs. \nTo register for Summer Camp you have to be a member of the NLLC. Registration is on the member portal.

DESCRIPTION:Come see the Nutcracker with school groups and other homeschoolers 12/13 \nThe Nutcracker \nThe Ithaca Ballet is excited to offer a special performance of The Nutcracker\, for schools and groups again this year. In past years this has been a wonderful way for students to experience the wonder and magic of ballet and the tradition of the Nutcracker! This year’s special performance will be held on Friday\, December 13th from 10 AM to 12 noon at the State Theater in Ithaca\, New York. There is a $10 charge per ticket (students and adults) and a limited number of adult chaperones are admitted free of charge. \nIf your family is planning on attending The Nutcracker please email Amanda at soltoffak@gmail.com by Friday\, November 21. In your email to Amanda please include the number of people attending and their names as there will be no paper tickets issued and we will be using names to check people in on the day of the performance. This will greatly assist in planning as seating at The Nutcracker will be in groups. \nAmanda will be collecting RSVPs and payments and writing a single check to the ballet. SUMMARY:Hyde Park Mastodon at Museum of the Earth
DESCRIPTION:Hosted at the Museum of the Earth by educator Robert Ross this hour long program will include hearing a story about the Hyde Park mastodon excavation\, observing some short clips from the Discovery Channel video about it\, looking at the skeleton in the Museum and at some other bones in the classroom\, and looking at some sediment from the site that has small plant and mollusk fossils. We will also look at the Right Whale and contrast it with that of the Mastodon. \nThis field trip will be for ages 8 and up and the cost is $12.50 per child. \nRegistered Parents are able to join the workshop without paying an additional fee.   Younger\, unregistered siblings will not be able to attend the workshop. \nChildren under the age of 8\, must pay a $4.00 admission to the museum and must be accompanied and supervised\, by a parent who has paid an additional $9.00 admissions fees to the museum if they wish to explore the museum while their older sibling/child is attending the workshop. DESCRIPTION:Our second annual Haunted Hightunnel for homeschool families will be held Sunday\, Oct. 27 from 5-9pm at Blackduck Cidery\, 3046 County Road 138\, Ovid. This party is open to all homeschool families and friends. We do have a suggested $5 donation per family to help cover costs of supplies and treats. Party is rain or shine! Dress for the weather and wear waterproof shoes in the event of rain.\n\nThis year\, we have a costume contest with the following categories:\n\n\nBest Homemade Costume\nScariest Costume\nMost Original Costume\nCutest Costume\nGroup Costume\nCrowd Favorite\n\n\nOur Haunted Hightunnel Party Schedule –\n5-6pm Potluck – bring a dish to share + a table setting.
